  1. I cut the cord a couple of years ago. I have a rather long list of shit I subscribe to, though:

    Netflix
    Hulu (no ads)
    Amazon Prime
    Shudder
    YouTube/Google Music
    Hi-Dive (anime service)
    Criterion Channel
    Disney+

All of that comes to under $70 a month, which is a lot less than I was spending on DirecTV. I may add HBO Max. Depends on what it actually comes with/costs. Hulu might get dropped if it winds up losing a bunch of content/Disney does nothing with it.

Ad Astra made me angry. It’s a poor man’s Apocalypse Now meshed with Soderberg’s version of Solaris and made by a director who is trying too hard to be Terrence Malick. I stopped caring about what was going on about 45 min into its 2 hour run time. So much of it doesn’t make sense if you think about it for more than ten seconds. I could keep ranting, but in short: It looks beautiful, but is poorly written and executed.
