Welcome to the Weekend Watch. Where we try to point you towards the best ways to spend your viewing time (or, at least, steer you clear of the garbage).
Loren: Man, the Ocean’s Eleven movies really took a dark turn. This started one way for me but definitely turned the corner. I’ll check it out.
RDT: Great cast. Great director. Interesting story. Reminds me a little of that Denzel Washington movie, John Q. Nice to see an adult drama out there, too. I might catch it in theaters, but I’ll definitely see it at some point.
Rick: I’m not sure how the whole “bigger financial conspiracy” angle is going to play out, but I’m still interested.
Loren: This looks like a pretty formulaic demonic possession movie with a Native American twist. Meh.
RDT: If this is really good, I’ll watch it from Rick’s kitchen. If it’s bad, I’ll never watch it. If it’s really bad, I’ll watch it from Rick’s living room.
Rick: As much faith as I have in Greg McLean (Wolf Creek), like Loren said, this looks about as pedestrian as it gets. I’ll go back and rewatch Fred Olen Ray’s Scalps instead.
This week on the podcast, we go mano a mano with Captain America: Civil War (SPOILERS @ 1:15:15-ish). But first, the news!
All that plus the usual tangents. As always, please check us out on Facebook at facebook.com/hollywoodpicturenews and, on Twitter, @HWPicNews.
Lastly, if you could, please rate and review us on iTunes. We’d really appreciate it.

Welcome to the Weekend Watch. Where we try to point you towards the best ways to spend your viewing time (or, at least, steer you clear of the garbage).
Loren: It’s going to be hard to top this one this week. I feel like I’ve been waiting for it for ever, and as I mentioned in last weeks Podcast (check out our podcast!) I’m more excited for this than I was Age of Ultron.
RDT: What Loren said (especially the “check out our podcast!” part).
Rick: Summer movie season is officially upon us, and I could not be happier than having this as the opening act.
Loren: There’s clearly some darkness there which could make this interesting and not just “poor rich people” but I’m not sure this movie is for me. The two leads are pretty tremendous though.
RDT: Tilda Swinton is a freaking chameleon. I had no idea that was her as Amy Shumer’s boss in Trainwreck. This looks interesting. I’m sure I’ll see it eventually.
Rick: I hate the music in this trailer. It’s way too cheerful for the subject matter. Nitpicking aside, I’ll definitely catch this.
This week on the podcast, we talk Marvel Cinematic Universe and what we think could, should and will happen next (no Civil War spoilers, though. Promise!). But first, the news!
Here’s the link to the video of Allison Janney crashing a recent White House press briefing.

Welcome to the Weekend Watch. Where we try to point you towards the best ways to spend your viewing time (or, at least, steer you clear of the garbage).
Loren: Yup. 100% in. Key & Peele + adorable cats in a weird John Wick spoof, it’s like this movie was made just for me.
RDT: Love Key & Peele (the show, and the guys). But something just isn’t clicking with me when it comes to this. Reviews seem to agree (or not, it’s now at 74% on RT). Regardless, I’ll see it eventually.
Rick: I really want this to be good, but my gut is telling me it won’t be. I’ll probably wait for video.
Loren: If I’m not mistaken this is in the New Year’s Eve/Valentine’s Day/Labor Day Cinematic Universe.
RDT: I have such a lack of desire to see this movie that I can’t even think of a snarky comment to express just how much of a lack of desire I have to see this movie.
Rick: Nope. Not even a little.
This week on the podcast, Loren and I solve the problem of shitty video game movies. But first, the news!

Flash TV spoilers around 1:24:00.

Welcome to the Weekend Watch. Where we try to point you towards the best ways to spend your viewing time (or, at least, steer you clear of the garbage).
Loren: Snow White meets Frozen meets Brave meets Thor? I’m good, thanks.
RDT:
Rick: It certainly looks pretty and has lots of pretty people in it, but I just can’t bring myself to care about this.
Loren: This movie looks bananas. And peanut butter. And bacon.
RDT: Michael Shannon is playing Elvis. Michael Shannon, Zod, is Elvis. This movie could be an unmitigated disaster and I’ll still see it based solely on that casting.
Rick: *gives this movie all my monies*
