Let’s Talk About The NEW and SPOILER HEAVY Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer!

Wow, there’s a LOT to unpack in this newest trailer. First off if you haven’t already, go check out my breakdown for the First Far From Home Trailer from back in January. Once you’ve done that c’mon back over here and dive right in.

A huge amount of questions we had about the MCU post Avengers: Endgame are answered in this trailer. It is chock full of spoilers for that movie so if you haven’t seen that yet be forewarned. I mean, even Tom Holland himself starts this trailer off telling you that there are spoilers inbound. So with all that said…

Let’s Talk About The First Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer!

It has arrived! The first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home has made it’s way to the rest of the world after debuting at Brazil Comic Con. The first look we’ve gotten for the sequel to Homecoming is pretty great. All your favorites are back; Peter Parker (Tom Holland), Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), MJ (we’re still going with that huh?) (Zendaya), Flash Thompson (Tony Revolori), Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), Sexy Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), and in place of a suspiciously absent Iron Man we get Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

There’s still no word on if this movie takes place before or after The Snappening as there’s no mention of it in the trailer. But what we do get info on is our movie’s antagonist… maybe. Jake Gyllenhaal shows up as Mysterio to fight off what I originally thought was Hydro-Man and maybe Sandman but the prevailing internet theory is that he is “pulling a Syndrome” from The Incredibles and creating these monstrous threats to portray himself as a hero. To what end? We don’t know yet, probably money and fame. Quentin Beck/Mysterio is a failed actor and special effects artist who, in the comics, takes to a life of crime when things don’t work out in his chosen profession. He uses his skill set, creating illusions, to aid him in his heists. I really like that the MCU adjacent Spider-Man movies dive a little deeper into Spidey’s rogues gallery. We’ve gotten some of his biggest foes in other movies so it’s great to see characters like The Vulture (Michael Keaton) and Mysterio get their due.

Ok, enough of all that. Let’s Talk About The First Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer! Continue reading

Let’s Talk About The First Avengers: Infinity War Trailer!

It finally happened you guys! It’s been a long time coming, but we have been gifted with the first trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War and I gotta say, it’s so rad seeing all these MCU characters together in one place. I don’t want to waste too much time with explanations of these characters and their motivations before breaking this bad boy down, especially seeing as this will be the nineteenth (holy shit!) movie in the MCU and we’ve gotten to know the characters from this now truly expansive universe pretty well over these last ten years. Interestingly, this trailer does appear to be different than the one they produced for Comic Con earlier this year, but there’s still plenty to unpack here so let’s talk about the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer! Let’s Talk About The First Black Panther Teaser Trailer!

Guys. I don’t want to alarm any of you, but I’m pretty excited about this movie. And not just to see Bilbo and Golem talking to each other. I’m actually most excited because I don’t really know much about the Black Panther mythos. I know the basics: King of a hidden African country that is way more technologically advanced than they let on, the Panther is a mantle passed down generationally, Wakanda is the only place to acquire Vibranium (the metal Captain America’s shield is made from), T’Challa is a disputed king as far as some are concerned, and he married Storm from the X-Men for a while (I’m pretty positive this will not be in the movie…. ever). But other than that, I don’t really know anything about the characters and their motivations, which is actually super refreshing. My one fear though is I didn’t know a ton about Doctor Strange besides the superficial and was hoping his movie would dive more into the character and it didn’t really.

Without much more to go on I think it’s time. So  Let’s Talk About The First Black Panther Teaser Trailer:  Continue reading

  • Incredibles 2 gets scored up
  • Big Sick trailer
  • ABC picks up FOX’s leftovers and relaunches American Idol
  • No Malcolm Merlin next year
  • Marvel’s Runaways releases first cast photo. Original for comparison
  • Netflix renews 13 Reasons Why because of reasons
  • Guy Ritchie would do Suicide Squad 2 if someone asked him but he can’t, cool
  • Inhumans Cast Photo
  • Kevin Feige walks back the TV/movies won’t cross over talking point a bit
  • Guardians 3 in 3 years?
  • Why Doug Liman said Adieu to Gambit
  • Plus the guys saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and think you should too

Let’s Talk About The New Marvel’s The Defenders Trailer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4h3m7B4v6Zc

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Netflix and Marvel’s collaborative efforts.  I think Daredevil and Jessica Jones are some of the better shows out there right now. I love the first half of Luke Cage and thought Iron Fist was fine. So you could say I’m pretty excited to see this summer’s team up between our titular heroes (stop laughing at titular, RDT). I think we’re all hoping that The Defenders is more Daredevil and less Iron Fist and from what we see here that looks like that’ll be the case.

Originally in the comics The Defenders was a group with Doctor Strange and The Hulk at it’s core. It has had, however, a rotating cast throughout the years with members including Namor, The Silver Surfer, and Netflix mainstays Hellcat and Luke Cage. Usually it’s a team up of heroes that are known as loners and outsiders and that’s definitely what we’re getting with this incarnation. Though the comic version deals with more mystic threats, The Hand (which look to be the “big bad” of this series) is pretty mystical as far as The MCU goes. This also looks to have more of a street level vibe similar to the Marvel Knights line, than the original Defenders but hey, we weren’t getting a Defenders movie so why not use a preexisting name. It does look as though this series will be tying up all sorts of storylines from the previous five and setting up the next seasons like Jessica Jones Season 2 and hopefully a Heroes For Hire series.

Ok no more wasting time, Let’s Talk About The New Marvel’s The Defenders Trailer: Continue reading
