Blockers
Loren: I mean, do I want to see John Cena ass chug a beer? Kinda. Am I going to run out to the theater to see this? Absolutely not.
RDT: Look, I was very pleasantly surprised by Game Night. This could be the same… Or it could be The House. If reviews are decent though (and they seem to be), I’ll keep it on my radar (or maybe go see it Saturday afternoon).
Jen: I didn’t want to laugh at that, but… oh God, I might actually see this movie? I mean I have a daughter so may as well prepare myself.
A Quiet Place
Loren: I really dig the concept here I just hope that it can sustain through a 2 hour movie. And, hey, good for John Krasinski in his second outing as a feature director to get a big budget/high concept horror movie.
RDT: Well, Loren, I’m happy to report it’s only 95 minutes. A couple reviews I’ve read said it’s one of the scariest movie ever, likening it to Jaws and The Birds. As such, I will likely watch this, through my fingers, from Rick’s kitchen, maybe this fall.
Jen: This looks awesome. I love the silence and can imagine myself not even wanting to move in the theater to make a sound. This will probably be an amazing movie going experience and I think I might make it out to the theater for it.
Chappaquiddick
Loren: I don’t know that I need to know the untold true story here. I feel like I already know everything I need to.
RDT: I am all set, thanks.
Jen: That guy really looks like Ted Kennedy. Good casting! I have few other feelings on this film.
We’re running a little late this week, and I don’t know how to do the top picture Loren usually drops in. So, you’re gonna have to deal.
Happy FriYAY! –RDT

A Wrinkle In Time
Loren: I’m not gonna lie that looks pretty incredible. I don’t remember reading the book when I was a kid and I’m actually glad for that so I can go in fresh and not know where the story is going.
RDT: Early reviews are not great. And, honestly, I’m just not wowed by it. I’ll probably catch it eventually, but as of now, I’m in no rush.
Jen: Yes, yes, yes! I read all of the books in the series. I wanted to be Meg Martin! I don’t have a spirit animal, but if I did it’d be a combination of Mindy Kaling, Reese Witherspoon, and Oprah, so, yeah – they’re getting my money.
The Strangers: Prey at Night
Loren: I didn’t see the first one, so I might be lost. This also doesn’t seem like my type of horror movie. Maybe down the road but I doubt it.
RDT: Though I’m not a horror guy at all, surprisingly, I did see the first one. If this is anything like that, I’ll pass.
Jen: Excellent use of Tiffany. But no, I’m not seeing this.
The Hurricane Heist
Loren: Hahahaha that looks hilariously bad and I’m kinda all about it. It’s like Geostorm meets Hard Rain and that’s a good thing.
RDT: What Loren said.
Jen: My Jason from True Blood meets Shannon from Lost fan-fic is finally being made! Yes!
Gringo
Loren: I’m pretty sure Joel Edgerton’s character was written for Jason Bateman and David Oyelowo is playing this a little too over the top for my personal taste. I think I’ll probably pass.
RDT: Meh.
Jen: Oh yeah, I can TOTALLY see that being Jason Bateman, now I can’t unsee it. I keep seeing posters for this around town and the cast is surprisingly stacked, but it just isn’t sucking me in enough to see it.
Rick steps in for Loren as he’s off with The Lady(I don’t know how to do the TM). So let’s get this out of the way, this week’s episode is long. So long, in fact, we’re cutting it in two. Part 1 is all the news and Part 2 will be all the universe updates and what we watched.
Millie Bobbie Brown is lil lady Sherlock Holmes
Vin Diesel is Bloodshot…?
The Academy is dumb
Leo joins Tarantino
Bad Times at the El Royale gets some cast
The Goldfinch is Wright….get it?
Bob Odenkirk is Nobody
Fox cancels Patty Hearst biopic
Will Clive Owen hunt Gemini Man?
We’ll still have to go to the movies to see the movies for at least another year
